Children are our future......

I agree with the concept of children being our future as much as the next average joe, but I believe we need to stop worrying about our childrens' future and start worrying about their lives right now. I have heard many politicians, including Bush, constantly talk about how we need to worry about our childrens' future when the fact of the matter is that our children will have no future if we don't act to try better society. We really need to set an example for our children so they can better the world for their children. As Eminem puts it, "We need to push this generation of kids to stand and fight for the right to say something you might not like...." He is right. We need to teach our children to utilize freedom of speech to change the world for the better. In order to change the world right now and set that example for our children our celebrities, the people who our kids look up to, need to speak out against violence, corruption, poverty, drugs, etc. I like what the One Organization is doing with all the actors in those commericials. It makes a difference. If you don't believe that our kids listen to those and take in the point of these commercials, then I'll give you an example of someone. Me. I saw one of these ads and proceeded to go to the website and see what they had to say. In fact, those commercials ultimately led to me starting this blog. I discovered the power of one voice and am now changing the world. My affect on the world as of right now is limited because of the number of readers I have, but I plan to change that. I am going to write letters to various celebrities asking them to look upon my site and discover what my goal is.

Eminem

I have been listening to a lot of Eminem lately and I realized that he is a lyrical genius. Pretty much all of the shit he raps about makes sense. He doesn't just say random things that ryhme like so many other rappers of this day. For example, in The Game's song "Dreams" he says, "I woke up from the coma in 2001, the same time Dre dropped 2001." What the fuck does that mean? I could have come up with a better rhyme than that, and I have: I woke up from the coma in 2001, and the first thing I wanted to do was grab a new gun; so I go down to philly and get a new Glock 9 milly, illegally. There, I have done it, I have successfully defeated The Game, once and for all. Another rapper who is highly overrated by the common public is 50 Cent. Can anybody understand anything he says? I don't know about anybody reading this but all I hear is a lot of mumbling with the occasional ni*** thrown in. The reason I prefer Eminem to all of these other "gangstas" isn't that he's white but that he raps about serious issues (much like 2pac...). I have written him a letter asking him to check out my blog and tell me what he thinks. Although he probably will not send a letter back (or visit Real Thoughts in Text), there is always the chance.

Trading Spouses

Did anybody catch the beginning of tonight's episode of Trading Spouses??? I didn't either because Bush was giving a horendous speech. He said that we will remain in Iraq until we solve the problem. I think we're looking at another Vietnam with this approach. Even the audience made up of soldiers hand-picked by the White House didn't like what he was talking about. He was making bogus comments about how we need not forget about what's going on in Iraq in order to stop terrorism. I hate to break it to you Bush, but fighting in Iraq will not end terrorism even to the closest extent. Incase you didn't notice, there are terrorists in every reach of the world. My question is what do terrorists really want. I know that all this blowing up shit is to scare us and create a panic, but why? What could they possibly recieve through creating a mass panic? Please, somebody comment about this and tell me. I'm really out in the cold with the whole concept of "terrorism." Call me stupid but I just don't get it. If I were president (which I hope to be sometime in the future), I would try to find out what terrorists want, and would try to bring peace between everyone. There is so much tension in our world right now. We are in desperate need of a president who is really dedicated to his job, like Mitt Romney!(Just kidding)

Very interesting......

Big Pun

I think Big Punisha has the best flow of any rapper ever. I am listening to some of his music right now and it is off the hook. I even think he may have better flow than BIG.

You'll never want to land at night anywhere in the US again....

Today I was talking to an electrician who also works for the FAA. He told me and my father that the control tower equipment in Logan Airport (and at most airports around the country) is extremely out of date. It is so out of date that it has become a hazard. I know I'll never elect to land in another airport again. I think someone should act and try to update this equipment. We all heard of the close call at Logan recently blamed on the tower being under staffed at the time. Not only was it under staffed at that time, but it is always under staffed. Also, the people who work there are extremely underqualified. The FAA concentrates on hiring minority employees. I find this very stupid. They should hire only overqualified people. This would without a doubt prevent any other close calls from ever happening again.

War with China

During my last semester of school I was sitting at lunch and eaves dropping on a few of my classmates' conversation. They were debating over whether we will go to a massive war with China over Taiwan. Although it seemed to be a debate, all of the participants agreed with everything the others were saying. They were all throwing out random ideas they had come up with just to sound smart, rather than actually thinking about what would really happen. One kid was saying that war was going to break out within the next 15 years and that there was going to be a draft. He then said the draft wouldn't be able to get to him because he would already have enlisted. If this happened, I sure as hell am skipping town, or, if neccassary, playing the "gay" card. The second kid, a boy who often stands in my shadow and always steals my ideas, was totally agreeing with him. I was appalled at this because I am good friends with this dude and thought I had trained him well in terms of political ideas. He went on to say that he wished Bush could stay in office in the event of a war, which in turn pissed me off so much that I started ripping on his ideas later that day. The third was a real army kid, one of those guys who walks around with army pants and fake guns(much like me when I was about 8). But anyways he was just saying how he believes we would wipe out the world with a nuclear war.

Listen up you 3 fools. First of all we would never go to war with China over Taiwan or any other small feud. That theory is utter bullshit. Second of all, if Bush ever maintained rule in our country, there would have to be a revolution - this man is utterly incapable of caring about anyone other than himself and his "base" ie : Rich white upper class (myself excluded). Third of all, if there was a nuclear war, it would not even come close to wipping out the world. you are all complete morons.

In closing : Fuck Bush, fuck money, and fuck you.

Epilogue: I am no longer in touch with any of these three former comrades and hope never to be again.

Boston

The roads in Boston are getting extremely confusing. First of all, some one way roads have do not enter signs on them when it is perfectly legal to enter them. What the hell is up with that??? Also, it is also getting very hard to find your was to let's say Logan. However, this is mainly becasue of drivers' error.

Pollution

I'm know we've heard all this junk about us polluting the environment, but the truth is, we are a part of the environment. It is natural that we pollute. If humans didn't, then it would be a totally different world. There wouldn't be any pools of toxic waste for average guys who work for the newspaper to fall into giving them the power to fight crime. What I'm getting at is that pollution is part of our lives, and we can never stop pollution completely.

Homeland Security

It has come to my attention that the most vulnerable part of our nations "Firewall" isn't the US postal service, but other companies such as DHL and UPS. Does anybody know if they screen any of their packages, because if they don't, we could be looking at another major panic.

WNBA?

Does anybody watch the WNBA besides the players' families and the 17 people in the stands at each game??? I'd really like to know.

Big or Pac???

There is a debate that I believe will go on until the end of time....Biggie Smalls or Tupac.

To decide who the better rapper was you first have to find out who the real Chris Wallace and Tupac Shakur were. I have books on both of them. Chris Wallace rapped for a reason....to get off the streets. He was selling crack and often talks about it in his rap songs. He also raps about birthdays being the worst days and thinking back to his one room shack, which, surprisingly, is a lie. His mother owned an 8 1/2 apartment and they were quite well off.

Tupac, on the other hand, was a totally different person that Chris. As a kid Tupac lived in Baltimore and was into theater, ballet, and poetry. I don't consider him a rapper, but a poet. He has a totally different style than Biggie. He rapped about many problems not only about himself, but about society. Big was more of a hardcore rapper, who rapped for the money, and only for the money.

Now that I have examined both Biggie and Tupac, it is time to judge. A decision would be impossible to make for overall rap, so I will make a few different categories. For best rhymes, I would have to go with Big. Who could beat rhymes like "I bring drama like ya...spit on ma mama.......now i'm bringin' karma like that ***** jeffrey dohmer" and "B -I-G...Po-pp-a, no info for tha....DEA, federal agents mad becuz im flagrant, tapped my cell, and the phone in the basement." I would really like to go off naming rhymes, but the list is very long. So, moving on, if you rate them on who made more money, then Tupac wins. In the long run I would choose Big, but it's too bad both of their lives had to be cut short. Or did they????......................

For Richer or Poorer?

It has come to my attention that the richer are continuing to get richer and the poorer are continuing to get poorer. I know this is a much discussed topic but I have been thinking about this a lot. I think the best way to battle poverty is not to throw money at it, but to create more jobs. They don't have to be well paying jobs but just jobs. Apparently Bush doesn't realize this. Instead of actually battling domestic problems, he decided to take American tax payers' money over to Iraq. Please Bush, why can't you realize that Iraq is not much of a threat. Saddam didn't have a beef with us, but Bush seemed to believe he did. Oh yea, look at what you have done GW, you've made Iraq about 5 times more unsafe than when Saddam was in power. Incase you didn't realize this, fear is a great political tool. If you have money and have people fearing you, then you're set. Fear and money is one great combination. Now I'm not sure if that would work at all in the US, but in other countries like Iraq or Cuba it would work greatly.

Chernobyl

Today I watched a documentary on the National Geographic Channel about the nuclear disaster at Chernobyl, Russia. It was very interesting and it made me think, "What could we do to prevent ever having another catastrophic event anywhere in the world?" There are two approaches to solve this question. The first more radical idea is that we ban such ways of producing powers altogether. The second one I thought of was that somebody, perhaps the UN, should go around and inspect various nuclear plants around the world. From what I have read the most nuclear "unstable" country is Russia. They have had a number of nuclear meltdowns in their nuclear powered submarines and not to mention the disaster said above. The other major meltdowns occured at Three Mile Island, NRX, EBR-I, Windscale, and Enrico Fermi Nuclear Generating Station. Although I believe Russia is the most unstable, it seems it could be a tie with the US, for 3 of the 5 meltdowns mentioned above occured in the US.

"Pop" Culture

I was recently sitting in the car waiting for my father to return from the market when, on Sirius Satellite Radio, I heard a special report of some prof. (who's name I can't quite recall) who says that the pop culture of our days is actually good for young people. Video games have been thought to "Ruin your mind" but actually are very good. Not only do they increase hand eye coordination drastically, they also involve much thinking. They help exercise the problem solving part of our mind while giving us something to do. Also, kids of this generation are able to multi task like there parents never would have thought possible when they were youths. For example, a kid may be sitting at a desk playing a game on his computer, with the TV on in the background, maybe listening to some music, and chatting with his/her friends on an instant messenger, and still be able to pick up information from all of these stimuli.

When my father returned to the car I told him about this new theory. He proceeded to ask me how a game like GTA would help you get smarter. The fact of the matter is that this game would make you think even harder and even help you develop some common sense. The reason is that instead of playing a futuristic alien game like Halo, this game actually seems real. It makes you think what you would do in that situation. Though I will admit that this game may be a bad influence on the more ignorant kids who simply follow the concept of "Monkey See, Monkey Do." But seriously, what kid would ever be stupid enough to go outside, carjack some guy in a banshee convertible, go to Ammu-nation, buy a machine gun, and go on a never ending rampage, thinking that they can just type in the cheat code for full health and get a new lease on life?

In closing I do agree with this Prof.'s argument and will probably go play some killing game right now. Later.

Lies in our government

The fact of the matter is, and not to be extremely radical, that we never landed on the moon with the Apollo space program. It is just another lie molded into our society. In addition to the lies, it has come to my attention that racism is at a high. I'm not referring to the discrimmination and prejudice against blacks, but the hate for people in countries from the middle east such as Iraq. This isn't really hate for them in my mind, but just fear. I recently saw the movie Team America:World Police. This movie was great, but it also represents, in little ways, what common Americans think of more "third world" countries. For example, all this bullshit about flushing a Koran down the toilet is appalling. It would be like flushing a dog's tail down a toilet. It may like its tail, but it ultimately is just a distraction with no true point.

The return of the greatest MJ

Not Michael Jordan, Magic Johnson, or Mike Jones, but Michael Jackson. I have heard from a few sources that MJ might perform in a few concerts with the live8 tour. This would be great for him just returning from his child molestation case.

Pistons Perish

I don't know about anybody else, but I personally thought that the Detroit Pistons would come out on top this year. They managed to surpass the Heat which although thought impossible was quite inevitable. This is a disaster for their franchise considering that they may be losing Darvin Ham, Ronald DuPree, and Elden Cambell will definately leave a hole in their team. I believe the major issue is the fact that Larry Brown is pretty much gone from the Pistons organization. The Pistons may have to make some very big changes which I think involve maybe trading one of the Wallace "Brothers" or Chauncey. As a matter of fact, pretty much any player could get traded. In a short summary I think the Pistons time in the light is over for a few years, that is, unless Darko can start the next season and average 20 ppg.......
